Set up your phone or camera at the bowler’s end, facing the batter front-on. Position it at roughly stump height, far enough back to capture the full body from stance through follow-through. A single delivery per video works best. Landscape orientation is recommended but portrait also works.
What video quality do I need?
Standard smartphone video (30fps or 60fps) works well. Higher frame rates give better event detection. The video should be well-lit — indoor nets with good lighting or outdoor daylight are ideal. Avoid backlit situations where the batter is in shadow.
Can I use videos from a bowling machine session?
Yes. As long as the camera captures the batter from the bowler’s end with full body visible, any net session works — throwdowns, bowling machine, or live bowling.
Does PitchIQ work for left-handed batters?
Yes. Select your handedness when uploading. The analysis adjusts all measurements and observations for left-handed technique.
Analysis and coaching
How accurate are the measurements?
PitchIQ uses computer vision to track body position throughout the shot. Measurements are normalised for camera distance so results are consistent across sessions. They are approximations based on 2D video — useful for tracking trends and identifying faults, but not a replacement for lab-grade 3D motion capture. Confidence scores indicate the reliability of each measurement.
What are the observations?
PitchIQ uses a structured observation system organised by diagnostic priority. Observations are grouped from root cause mechanics through to outcome validation, so you work through technique assessment in the right order. Each observation has specific options with guided instructions telling you what to look for.
What are fault chains?
Fault chains show how technique issues are connected. For example, a drifting head causes front leg instability, which breaks alignment, which disrupts weight transfer. By fixing the root cause (head position), the downstream effects often resolve automatically. PitchIQ identifies these chains from your observations and prioritises drills accordingly.
What is the difference between free coaching and Pro coaching?
Free coaching (offline coaching) uses your manual observations to identify fault chains and prescribe drills from a built-in library. It works entirely from the observation data you mark. Pro coaching uses AI to cross-reference your observations with automated biomechanical measurements for deeper, personalised analysis.
Can I correct the auto-detected events?
Yes. On the Analysis tab, the Event Frames panel lets you adjust stance end, backlift peak, contact, and follow-through frame numbers. Click “Apply corrections” to recalculate all measurements based on your corrected frames.
Sharing and coaches
How does coach sharing work?
Click the Share button on any analysis to generate a link. Send it to your coach. They can view your video, measurements, and observations, and leave feedback with their own observations and notes. The link expires after 7 days. Coaches do not need a PitchIQ account.
Can my coach see all my sessions?
No. Share links are per-analysis. Your coach only sees the specific analysis you share with them. They cannot access your account, other sessions, or personal details.
Where do I see coach feedback?
Coach feedback appears on the Coaching tab under “Coach notes”. It also shows as a collapsed panel on the Analysis tab when feedback has been received.
Account and billing
Can I cancel my subscription anytime?
Yes. Go to Settings and click “Manage subscription”. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you keep access until then. No cancellation fees.
What counts as an analysis?
Each video upload that runs through the pipeline counts as one analysis. Re-running with corrected event frames does not count as a new analysis. Free tier includes 2 analyses per month; Pro is unlimited.
What payment methods do you accept?
All major credit and debit cards via Stripe. Payments are processed securely — we never see or store your card details.
Can I get a refund?
Contact us within 14 days of your first payment for a full refund. Annual plan subscribers may request a pro-rated refund within the first 30 days. See our Terms of Service for full details.
Can I delete my account?
Yes. Contact us at pitchiq.pro@gmail.com to request account deletion. All your data, including videos and analysis results, will be permanently deleted within 30 days.
